Existing technical issues, such as site outages after WordPress updates, had to be resolved, page speed performance improved, SEO efforts reinforced, and brand consistency ensured through collaboration with an external graphic agency. Additionally, a modern CMS had to be implemented to facilitate efficient content management while accommodating differences between the English and German site versions.
Striking a balance between flexibility and user-friendliness in the web design was another key challenge. The website needed to directly address user pain points while making the hello again app tangible and engaging. Furthermore, a KPI matrix and tracking plan had to be developed during the conceptual phase to emphasize conversion goals — without making users feel monitored. This was achieved through personalized information and storytelling that still leaves room for thought.

The project kicked off with a video call to clarify requirements, followed by an in-depth analysis of the existing website, objectives, stakeholders, and target audiences, including user journeys. A focus was thus placed on evaluating the performance of current interaction points on the website and mapping them to the user journey.
Subsequently, potential solutions across the entire user journey were discussed, the system architecture and technology stack were defined, and functional lists and wireframes for both mobile and desktop were developed. A UI design guide was also created in close alignment with hello again’s chosen graphic agency.
After several feedback loops, the components were finalized, an initial backlog was created, functionalities were prioritized, and the overall project scope was estimated. Among these functionalities, keyphrase engineering was used to align navigation paths with search intent — meaning users would be presented with different perspectives on the product based on their search queries. This approach positioned the website as an integral part of a holistic journey, seamlessly integrated with the existing lead-scoring system.
