Netural Spinoff Storyblok Raises USD 47 mio in Series B Round
Netural is proud and excited to see our spinoff Storyblok grow wings: following a successful Series A funding round that has raised USD 11 mio in 2021, and an "World Champion" title as the top-rated headless CMS in the latest G2-report, Storyblok now reports the successful closing of its Series B funding round with USD 47 million.
"We are building the CMS for the 21st century," Storyblok masterminds Alexander Feiglstorfer and Dominik Angerer state with confidence. Indeed, what has originally started as a prototype at Netural has over five short years grown to 120,000 project applications by 74,000 developers in 130 countries. The Storyblok client list includes global brands such as Adidas, Renault, Marc O'Polo, Pizza Hut, UPC and Payone. From a two-person team in early 2019, Storyblok has grown to become a truly remote company with a global customer base, a worldwide marketing network and a 170+-strong team spread across 38 countries.
Rapid growth
Great products and attractive performance attract great investors. The Series B funding round that Storyblok has now closed with spectacular success was led by HV Capital and Mubadala Capital. Investory from day 1 are also on board: 3VC and firstminute capital have already been involved in the Seed and Series A rounds. The USD 47 million that Storyblok has raised now make plenty valuable fuel for the next growth spurt: "Since the financing round in February 2021, the team has expanded by 500%, and the target for the end of this year is at least another doubling. With 330 employees, we can offer even more intensive customer service and speed up product development," Storyblok comments on the success of the financing round.
Successful concept, made in Linz
For Netural, this is a welcome confirmation that creating global successes in Linz, Austria is possible: Storyblok has been developed in-house from 2015 and spun off as an independent company in 2017. Following convincing successes of this software in projects of major Netural customers, internationalization started in 2019. At the same time Roomle, another Netural spinoff, also beat all expectations, motivating German HOMAG AG to acquire a majority stake in 2021. "We will keep developing and spinning off companies with a digital focus. This is part of our strategy - and proves our expertise in outstanding digital solutions," comments Netural CEO Albert Ortig.
