Tyrol Instaweekend: Sparkling Moments of Wonder

Instagram´s brand communication relevance is on a steady rise: Visually orientated channels are gaining ground in the face of “established” social networks like Facebook, Twitter und Google+. They have already gathered a very lively community in search of entertaining offers.

A fans´ favorite are “instawalks”: We have developed these guided theme walks for instagramers as independent social media formats for clients like Silhouette Eyewear and Energieleben, the online magazine of utility company Wien Energie.

For the Swarovski Crystal Worlds we extended the concept, introducing the “instaweekend”: Fifteen international instagramers were invited to a May weekend hike through the Crystal Worlds and the Tyrol mountain ranges. These were the winners of a preliminary contest in which a jury selected the most emotional among 2.000 photo contributions about “Moments of Wonder".

The first instaweekend started with a welcome dinner in the VIP lounge of the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, Tyrol, giving participants from Malaysia, Portugal, Serbia, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Austria an impressive background for their first meeting.

The next morning started with breakfast at the Parkhotel in the historic town center of Hall, followed by a guided nature watch hike through the Hall valley to the St. Magdalena mountain lodge. There we took lunch, preparing for the afternoon highlight, a guided tour through the fourteen Chambers of Wonder and the park of the Swarovski Crystal Worlds, with amazing photo opportunities found on every step of the way.

For Sunday brunch we took the Nordkettenbahn funicular from Innsbruck up to the Seegrube Alpenlounge, 7400 ft. above sea level. Innsbruck´s historic town center and crystal clear views through Swarovski binoculars completed this memorable first instaweekend.

The participants took a rucksack full of amazing photos, fond memories and new contacts home. Their impressions were collected under the #momentsofwonder hashtag, perpetuating a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
